Well, this is the first update since I opened this blog on August 15th I believe. Nothing too important, but worth writing something about.
An older entry of mine that is about “isshoukenmei” informed me that the spelling and kanji that is used for “shou” is a different spelling and reading now from what it used to be in the past. So, upon testing out the new Garland theme, I decided to make those changes around my blog to the spelling of the word. See the About Isshoukenmei page at the top for more info.
My opinions on this theme are pretty straightforward. I enjoy the fact that I can choose the colors I want and have always found the blending effect to be very pleasant to look at, but I had planned on trying out the Sonific Songspot with this. Unfortunately, the widget stretches out into where my main text is in both columns. I could very well be overlooking a detail, but upon rereading the WordPress comment from the Sonific CEO, I found out there is a vertical choice. Maybe I’ll still give it a shot after all…I also am not crazy about having such a large font size for links. I never have been, but we all know if I want to screw with the CSS, I need to get my own server hosting (i.e. pay). I’ve had this fruitless conversation with myself countless times in the past in regards to where I should blog, but seeing as how I am coming upon my final semester in college, investing in my own domain name, and obviously server hosting may not be such a bad idea given my creative ambitions…
I also had the intention of later creating a new banner for my blog, but after viewing an old project of mine while doing some changes to how my links appear (I used to have all of my links connected to my Blogroll page using Categories, but I have now made them all into individual widgets, save the Blogroll itself), I am considering creating a new blog with a banner so I can close down my other Blogspot one that I have for it. Seems reasonable enough, and I only had seven entries. However, I don’t know if I want to draw attention to a creative project that I haven’t worked on in about a year or so. I’ll be able to decide eventually I hope.
In regards to the linkage, I have removed my handdrawn works from Alexiel Works, as technically, they are not; the name implies digital craft, not my crappy drawings of the past (but my crappy CGing of the past is O.K.! >_>). Right. Some of the names given to my Alexiel Works links have also been given Japanese equivalents or just a name that better describes the work in question. A few other links have been removed from other places, but not worth shining a light upon.
Well, since this entry is boring enough, I’ll throw in a few pictures…

I got to catch the tailend of an episode of the new Negima?! anime on TV! Not that it matters now, but it airs on Tuesday afternoons at around 5:30. Not much of a fan, but it’s the only anime I actually caught a picture of while it was being aired. All the ones I watch come on after midnight…and I’m a tired college student. Oh, and Yugioh GX airs right after Negima?!, but who watches that crap anyway.

A Japanese home decorated. I don’t know what it is about the Japanese and efficiency, but as soon as Dec. 1st came around, stores were already donned with Christmas themes. They seriously waste no time…even though Christmas is just a commercialized holiday taken from the West and nothing more. I say, if they’re going to propagate Christmas, why don’t they do so with Thanksgiving?
Anyway, it’s exactly 8 hours before I leave Seminar House 1 and 11 1/2 hours before I board the overnight bus to Shinjuku, Tokyo. I am not packed yet. Not only that, but I was informed last night by Dave that I’ll be flying home alone since he forgot to tell me he extended his stay in Japan. Well…screw you very much, but thanks for thinking of me last minute after I put out $115 just to move my flight back one day so we could go home on the same plane and reminesce together. Basically, I’m going to have to learn how the trains run in Tokyo really quickly because I know I won’t be offered any assistance by him or his friends that he has made here. I’m loving how this is playing out already…
There is plenty I haven’t blogged about, and hopefully I’ll be able to cover it after my return. In the mean time, pray that I am not subjected to being killed by someone…or vice versa. Ja na.
