AnimeNEXT ‘07 Attendance

AnimeNEXT is right around the corner for those in the Northeastern area of the US, and I’ll be there to celebrate in the festivities for the second time for all three days. I will be attending with my manga partner and best friend, Kou, his girlfriend and other best friend, Shaian, and quite possibly my own adorable sweetheart and lover, Chessi. I should be going as a Press member on behalf of Anime-Source.com, but with all the craziness of other plans (I’ll talk about them in another entry) and my forgetfulness because of those plans, I might be too late to obtain a Press badge…even though I had requested they be looked into back in January…

Anyway, chances are I will be spending little time in the Dealers Room, and instead mapping out which panels I will be going to. Contrary to my own belief, though I am a “purist” when it comes to anime, there are already a few guest panels I want to check out, such as Bill Rodgers, Chris Patton, Wayne Grayson, Tom Wayland, Jonathan Klein, and Kensuke Okabayashi. Most of these people have done voice acting or are in the business of voice or manga. ANEXT has really put together some great guests this year, so I’m really looking forward to it all. Of course I’ll be looking for industry panels like DelRey & ADV, but we’ll see. I was invited by a veteran staffer to go to the Pre-Con Party, on Thursday, but I’ll have to see how that plays out once I get off work that day. I should definitely be there by Opening Ceremonies though.

In any case, I’ll be cosplaying as a generic Japanese school student and wearing a black, Japanese fishing outfit (trust me, it’s cooler than it sounds) that was a gift from my Japanese club friends before I graduated. I have to find my boken too…>_> Should be loads of fun!
