Anime-Source Otakon Gathering

A few of us from Anime-Source are going to be shoving off to Baltimore, Maryland for the largest East coast anime con, Otakon, for eccentric, off-the-wall fun and celebration of Anime-Source.com’s 5th year as an anime community and reviews site. The Website Content Administrator and my “boss”, Xenocrisis0153, made an announcement to the community about this while I was away. This really is going to be some trip for me, seeing as how it’s not the drive that is going to be slightly worrisome, but the people I’m going to be spending around 6-7 days with. I think the closer that this con gets, the more excited I will be to finally be attending this massive con for the first time. I’m just glad that it’s still a while away, since I’m pretty sick of driving at the moment… ^^;

Speaking of A-S, I have a Spotlight Review that has been in the works for too long now. Hopefully, I can watch the 3rd Raw (w/o subtitles) episode of Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica, clarify and make necessary changes to my review, and get it posted on the site by the end of June. As you can see from my Anime Listing, I’m really not watching a lot of series during the summer. This is partly because of not having enough gigs to hold it, and partly because I am starting to feel as though I am getting my priorities straightened out. Unfortunately, priorities is only a piece of the puzzle. My lifestyle (online & off), aspirations, and recreational activities (online & off) have further organization and balancing to be done.

In any case, AnimeNEXT & Otakon will be lovely respites for me, but one could imagine just where many of my vacation days are going…eheh. Let’s just say I’m really glad I don’t work on weekends. Just hope everything works out with meeting, greeting, and such. Oh, and just to put this out there, I also plan on attending MangaNEXT. Registration just recently opened up, so I’ll be jumping on that bandwagon soon enough.

::watches the checking account shrink gradually:: In some ways, it sucks that I didn’t have all this opportunity as a teenager. In other ways, it sucks that now I’m an young adult, with a job and limited vacation days, but have more money [that I worked my butt off for] at my disposal than ever before…so that I could actually HAVE all this opportunity. I don’t know whether to be happy or sorrowful XD ;_;
