Kotaku released an interview with the Ace Attorney series producer Minae Matsukawa from Comic-Con ‘07 saying that “it would be pointless [to release Phoenix Wright 4] if number three doesn’t do well [in the West].” I don’t know what it is about her statement that makes it nag at me so much, but I really want to support the franchise I have read so much about.
See, I’m not the gamer I used to be at all. The last game I beat was FFX (something like 2 years after its release). Yet, I bought myself a slim PS2 and modded it so I could play my two games that I bought while I was living in Japan. I have yet to finish these games I have been able to play since around March. I just don’t have the time to commit to sitting in front of my 12″ TV, playing a game. (And yet I have all the time in the world to sit in front of my 15″ LCD monitor writing blog entries. XD) However, I am crazy enough to believe that if I bought myself a DS, I would be rocking that thing like there was no tomorrow. I am also convinced that I would enjoy playing Phoenix Wright enough to actually play it through. In a way, I’m very apprehensive about trying my luck with a handheld system, even though I recall my younger years with the Sega Game Gear that I played the heck out of.
Do you have any words of “encouragement” and unbiased experience to prod me in the direction of getting a DS and Phoenix Wright?
In the mean time, while I await the wave of replies ::coughyeahsureokaycough::, I’m going to drag myself back to attempting to do the work I’m actually getting paid to do. o(_ _;)o Procrastinating for two hours because of blogging is hardly an acceptable excuse. By the way, I’m sure people have heard about the Del-Rey licensing of the Gyakuten Saiban (Phoenix Wright) manga. It could very well be an interesting read. I know I’ll be picking up a copy just because it would look fairly amusing next to my Shakugan No Shana light novel. That is, once I am actually able to have a shelf to stack my manga on.

Really a great handheld with alot of fun games. In-fact, some even inspired me to play them late into the night so I could get all 120 treasure chests and unlock all the unlockables!!!! (that was Kirby Squeek Squad :3)
If you want one go for it. Knowing you, j00 won’t be disappointed. (note: Look for a color that won’t attract alot of fingerprints if your getting a lite)
