“So you say that the human you made contact with was the perfect match for ‘him’? After nearly a half a millennia, I am quite skeptical…”
Her rouge bottom lip turn upward in disdain.
“Such a meanie you are, Ikaru. You truly must not take me seriously at all.”
Shaking his head once, he replied with faint smile.
“On the contrary, I want to believe you. I simply am skeptical about the choice of human.”
“My taste is never something to fret over,” she smirked. “Besides, I already have a plan ready to be put into motion.”
“And does this plan of yours, may I ask, comply with the counsel?”
A distinct pressure of a third voice had filled the room. Having tensed seconds in advance, Ikaru quickly spoke with wandering eyes.
“Ah Reiho. How…unexpected of you to visit.”
The gazes of the two females clashed in silence.
“I asked you a question and I expect a proper answer. Did you or did you not descend to the Mortal Plane of your own accord?”
Ikaru cleared his throat with considerable force. “Now now, Reiho. No need to be so ra–”
“And what right do you have to address me in such a manner, Reiho?” she interjected.
Reiho’s eye twitched in irritation. Must you always pull that card…even in jest? she thought, as she bowed her head.
“My apologies.”
While Ikaru observed from afar, crestfallen, the crimson-haired goddess flipped her hair over her bare shoulder, smiling in satisfaction.
“I have an answer…” she smirked, while making her way behind Reiho. Leaning into her ear, she retained a playful air. “…but you should already know.”
Reiho’s countenance was overtaken by grief.
“You…you do know what this me~aaah! W-What do you think you are doing?!”
Ikaru gasped, flushed in the cheeks, having preempted those slender hands now cupping Reiho’s breasts.
“We~ll, I think I’m distracting you. You should not be so serious with me, Rei~ho.”
“C-Cut it out!”
Ikaru gawked dreamily at Reiho’s faintly flushed face as she struggled.
“This is no way for someone in your position to act!”
Releasing her, her rouge lips scowled. “Hmph. you’re no fun either.”
Adjusting her glasses, Reiho sighed.
“Friends or not, I answer to the counsel as your right-hand woman…and descending to the Mortal Plane without proper clearance is prohibited, as you very well know…Hirika, Princess of the Crimson Star.”
Rolling her eyes, Hirika ran her fingers through her hair. Ikaru clearly was worried.
“And I suppose next you’ll say I must appear before them in my defense.”
“Precisely,” Reiho said as she strolled towards the exit. “I will personally make the arrangements for an audience…”
Stopping suddenly, she looked over her shoulder with a troubled countenance. “For your sake, I hope you are prepared…Hirika.”
Hirika stared at the closed door in silence.
“Hirika…was this part of your plan as well?”
She twirled to face Ikaru with a smile. “Not. At. All.” <3
