After deciding on a new WordPress theme, I got to work on a new banner for it. I didn’t have any ideas in mind, but I knew the tagline I wanted to use. The rest went from there.
I’ll be posting an entry that links to more info about the new banner design, but if anyone has any thoughts on the change of layout, please feel free to share. I know going from dark to light is always a challenge in more ways than one, but IsShouKenMei needed to get away from the darkness after using it for half this year. Hopefully this look will be happier, and more welcoming…though I’m waiting for the day when I can finally design my own layout.

Haha… I love it. Nice change. I love the banner. Not sure if I like what it says. You are someone special, Alexiel. Everyone is special in their own unique way. Just like I am even though I don’t see it.
Not anyone can do what you do. Sure, I just happen to be a fellow writer and Dark is a fellow designer, but not everyone can do both or do it as well as you. You should give yourself a little more credit than you do. *hugs* I know you will go far in this life.

Very clean and pure, the profile effect you were going for works well. The boarders you chose compliment that style and fade into very nicely. And if there’s anything I love about your quotes, it’s how well you’re able to translate an image entirely to words. “Pure Resolve.” perfectly matches that look of determination on Saber’s face.
Love the main quote especially, “I’m no one special…anyone can do this…” sounds a lot like something Chase Amritage (freerunner) once said in one of his vids. It’s humbling and down to earth but also insinuating that what you’re doing can be mistaken for something amazing if it really isn’t in the first place. Nice job you sly psycho-analyst, you. XP

Glad you find the change welcoming. As for your reaction to the quote, you’re looking too much on the surface, still thinking I don’t value myself. Kou hit my logic right on the mark. I’m sure that if you continue to be steadfast in the things you wish to do, you will go far also. Would be wonderful if we both could achieve our aspirations.
Kou:
Thank you for the positive feedback on my banner. Somehow, simple seemed better, and not much crazy inspiration came. I wish I could have done more original work with it.
The quote was actually taken from Chase Armitage. I wanted to use it the moment I heard it because it applies so well to my approach on living. Indeed you are correct in my interpretation. After knowing me for so long, you see why it’s difficult to live on the surface of things anymore.

*scratches head* Well… you can’t blame me for not knowing where it came from. I have never heard of Chase Armitage. Who is that?

I don’t blame you for not knowing where it came from. However, it’s not because of Chase Armitage himself that I am using the quote, so the source is irrelevant to how it is being used for me personally.
Chase is a freerunner who doesn’t allow the barriers of the physical world to chain him down.

^_^ Oh, I see. *laughs* That is my lesson for today, I guess. I see what Kou meant. Sorry for looking at it from the surface. I keep doing that, don’t I? Hehe….
