“Isshoukenmei” was a blog move project that I had been meaning to do for over a year and a half prior to August 2006. I just couldn’t work up the guts to move after getting so cozy with Blogger. With my semester abroad in Osaka, Japan during Fall 2006 finalized, knowing that those from my college’s Japanese Club wanted to be my blog audience of sorts while I was there finally gave me the kick in the butt I needed to make their reading experience streamlined for me and for them.
The reason why I consider this move a “project” is because I have a sentimental thing for my writings and couldn’t bear to have them all just become “net junk.” So…in a week’s time in mid-August 2006, I categorized all of my 223 Blogger entries by most prominent topic matter. I also offer various services. Have a character image that you like? Contact me for more information.

So what does “Isshoukenmei” mean anyway? It simply means “to put a heartfelt, relentless effort into”. Why did I choose that word as my title mast? I’m about to get to that.
In this blog, you will find that I am a multi-faceted individual with a lingering love for Japanese visual culture. Each entry will speak with each with their distinct voices & mental focuses. More specifically: My journey towards reaching my professional endeavors, and living a life driven by over-ambition & purpose.
If that explanation of the term is not enough, a more thorough breakdown of the term’s history and my applicability of it can be accessed here.

Yes you may. Never considered that someone would want to.
I would appreciate it though if you made it link back to the blog. That gives more incentive to check it out rather than googling a japanese word.

So yes, after quite a few forehead-slapping moments, I decided to drop a line here and say hello. I didn’t before because I thought this was one of those personal blogs which is, well, “personal”. A “just between you and very close friends” thing.
But I do admire your writing and your designs. I found myself straying into this blog while I was at Aikou’s.
Best wishes.

Ahaha, don’t worry about it. A simple misunderstanding is all, right?
This blog is actually completely the opposite of what it seemed to be to you. IsShouKenMei exists to be a source of encouragement and resolve to not only myself, but to those who choose to come to understand the kind of individual I am. I guess it may have appeared to be just between “those close” because the few who do comment just happen to be in that category. Needless to say, I don’t receive many visitors who actually stick around for more than one comment, if they bother to leave one at all just to let me know they existed for that moment.
I’m glad you have found worth in my writings and my designs. I hope you don’t make yourself a stranger here. I have stopped in your blog as well. You seem to be driven similarly like Aikou and I are.
All the best to you as well..

Ah…I see…my mistake.
Okay, the clouds are cleared now. I don’t mind coming back here and comment. I like what I read here. It’s really professional, if I may say so.

And in return I will browse your blog and comment there when I can. I appreciate the fact that someone else finds what I write likable and worth reading. I never thought of it as “professional” though, but that’s a good thing to hear since I’ve been blogging for a few years now.
